Software Engineering Intern, RBC Embark
I returned to RBC for a second internship through RBC Embark (Summer Tech Labs, rebranded).
- My team and I built a Java Spring Boot application that schedules, monitors and oversees a monthly purge of outdated records from a database, keeping it within RBC's data-retention policy.
- Deleting old e-signature records used to take the team around 2 months of manual work. We built the app in 3 weeks, and the purge now takes seconds.
- Its first run deleted over 500,000 stale records, leaving a cleaner, faster database. It now runs automatically every month.
- Presented our purge app in a demo to RBC vice presidents and teams across digital technology.
Software Engineering Intern, RBC Summer Tech Labs
As an intern in the RBC Summer Tech Labs program, I worked with the API Security and Operations team to automate API compliance at scale.
- Automated the manual review of OpenAPI specification files, the documents that describe how each of RBC's APIs works.
- Built the tool with NestJS and Amazon S3, and deployed it to production.
- It saves about 1,300 hours of manual work a year and makes life easier for over 6,000 developers.
- Presented a demo of the tool to RBC vice presidents and teams across digital technology.
IT support
Since 2020, I've handled the IT for a medical office in Mississauga, setting up and fixing the network, computers, records system, fax and printers across two clinics.
Leadership and volunteering
- Innomasters, University of Toronto Engineering (2025): designed and prototyped a water filtration system with U of T engineering students.
- ESQ camp, University of Waterloo Engineering (2024): helped run a STEM camp for over 400 campers as a Leader in Training.
- Gonzaga Coptic Organization Student Association: president, running biweekly meetings at my high school.
- Student Leader: tutored younger students in math and worked on the school's media team.
